With the success of the epic movie The Lord of the Rings, New Zealand has had and still has a growing number of international visitors visiting and tourism is now the biggest industry in terms of foreign exchange. In 2001, the New Zealand Government launched a national tourism strategy to re-energise the industry and promote the country as a desirable, unique and quality holiday destination.
